Low-Noise Operation
The BJ5504 has a specified operating noise level of no more than 40 dB. Lower instrument noise can help create a more comfortable working environment during procedures where concentration, communication and careful instrument manipulation are required.
This noise characteristic adds another practical consideration to the overall design, particularly for operating rooms where powered surgical equipment is used alongside other medical devices.
Battery-Powered Design for Operating Flexibility
The device operates at 9.6 V with an 1800 mA battery configuration. Two batteries are supplied as standard, giving healthcare professionals an additional power source for equipment preparation and battery rotation.
Battery operation removes the need for a direct power cable during use, allowing the instrument to be positioned more freely around the surgical field. This can be beneficial when the operating team needs greater mobility during cranial procedures.
Detachable Battery Case for Sterilization Workflow
The BJ5504 incorporates a detachable autoclavable battery case. The removable design is intended to support the preparation, cleaning and sterilization process for reusable surgical equipment.
The system is autoclavable at 134°C for 5 minutes. Hospitals and surgical centers should follow the manufacturer's instructions for use as well as their validated cleaning, inspection and sterilization procedures when processing the equipment.
Durable Stainless Steel Construction
High-strength stainless steel components are used in the instrument structure to provide durability in professional medical environments. The material selection is intended to withstand routine handling and repeated reprocessing when the device is maintained according to the applicable instructions.
A durable construction can also contribute to long-term instrument reliability, making the BJ5504 suitable for hospitals and neurosurgical departments that require dependable powered surgical equipment.
